Stone often brings forth the lack of morality or ethical considerations that American commander held against their men in the filed of battle, and how the war was often mismanaged and not efficiently run in the best interest of American troops. Furthermore, the issue of American imperialism and its massive destructive power is represented due to the harshness and severity of atrocities done to soldiers, Vietnamese civilians, and the aggressive stance the American government had begun to take against communism in Asia. "
